Educational model

Contemporary education at British International School Classic recognises the equality of the emotional, intellectual and behavioural aspects of the personality of each pupil and acknowledges the affective elements in the educational process.


School Facts

British International School Classic has been accredited and licensed in 1997 by the Bulgarian MoE. We have integrated both the Bulgarian and British National Curricula.


School staff

Qualified teachers from Bulgaria and abroad give each child at BIS Classic attention, love,respect and trust.



The documents that BIS Classic issues are in compliance with the Bulgarian educational standards. At Classic students attain a certificate at the end of each year of study as well as Primary and Secondary Education Certificates alongside globally recognised certificates such as IGCSEs, TOEFL, SAT, A-Levels and others.



The school day at British International School Classic for Primary and Lower Secondary starts at 8.00 and finishes at 17.00. Upper Secondary starts at 8.00 and finishes at 14.30.



BIS Classic employs a 100-point marking scale. There are three types of assessment tests - ongoing, mid-term and principal. The principal tests' aim is to give a transparency in assessing the performance of both students and teachers.


  • The prerequisite for development of a new educational paradigm is the understanding of the necessity of a different type of education and upbringing in a different type of school. The main focus is the formation of each youngster as an author of innovative ideas.
    The spiritual, intellectual and physical development at BIS Classic aims at maximizing each child's potential with the perspective of a successful social integration.
